Trophy Fishsim in April sees a new rule change which affects the time during a day that fish can be caught. Your top five weighing fish from the following time sectors will be the only fish that count :

These are NOT real life times, but the times you select before going fishing in Fishsim.

To have five qualifying fish you must have caught at least one fish from each of the above time sectors. If you catch more than one fish from each sector, the biggest fish will count for that sector. You can find out your biggest fish from each sector by clicking on your name on the trophy fishsim results page.

At the moment, it's not totally certain how this rule will affect things but it is hoped it will spread the results out a bit more by providing extra tactical options. There's no doubt it's going to make catching five fish harder, but this added difficulty impacts more on the top anglers than everyone else because the catching the same big fish five times over is now a lot more difficult and in some cases will be impossible to do. A lot depends on the choice of venue and species, some choices will be hardly noticeable, whereas others may end up becoming only three or four fish matches. These are the extreme though and without going through and testing every venue species combination it's impossible to say with total accuracy how this change will work in practice. The plan is to review after a week ( seven matches ), then as long as things aren't drastically wrong, the change will continue to the end of the month. At some point closer to the end of the month, opinion and views will probably be requested on the changes with the purpose being either to keep, modify or scrap it.

Premier League final standings

Congratulations to Phoenix Thorn on winning the premier league title with a huge points total. Also congratulations to Klamer_Pl who came in second place in what was a very close fought division throughout.

First division final standings

Well done to Poacher who takes the March 2009 trophy fishsim division one title with 974 points. Tris takes the runners up accolade with Tigeress111 and Luktyk.pl also booking spots in the premier league next month.

Second divsion final standings

Early favourite Delboy delivered in the second division taking a second consecutive league title to earn promotion to division one. Elbowdeep came in a close second place with Ludva CA and Oczkos1900 PL both also promoting.

Third divsion top 20

Congratulations to Leon Z for taking the division three title which is no mean feat considering 180 other anglers took part in the race last month. Only a few points behind in second place was Darek who is recorded as the runner up for the month. Juras, Andreyts_ru, Leva_ru and Junior all promote to the second division.

The fixtures for April have been generated and there are four, sea fishing matches during the month :

- Great Barrier Reef
- Weymouth Harbour
- Torquay, Devon
- West Yell Coast

Other interesting ones look to be a match at the Rivers of China, Danube Pier and Niagra falls - full passports required to fish Trophy Fishsim in April.
