21st Dec 2008 Clives Amazon crossing gets the zebra's

Nothing is ever black and white so the saying goes, well Clive has well and truely put pay to that saying as that is pretty much all he saw yesterday after hauling in an impressive catch of Zebra Catfish which gave him a well earned second ever trophy victory. The haul included at least one 3 lb fish, something which only 3 other anglers managed to achieve yesterday, them being, Nightloverbe, sav and sirfishalot. The biggest of the day being a new species record of 3 lb 15 oz caught by Sav at Summat diff'rent. Of the 49 anglers who fished, the ones who chose the dark early hours of the morning seemed to have most success with the big catfish.

It is refreshing to see some new names at top end of the results table yesterday. Clive and sirfishalot both gained some welcome points to both pull clear of relegation in the premier league and leave Bebza now in the drop zone. The bottom of the premier league is where all the changes seem to be happening, where as the top remains the same with Morana CZ and Bob Poultney still seperated by 42 points.

In the first division Dazza, Hodgey and Serasan are still battling away for what is looking like the final two promotion spots, only 24 points seperate the three of them, so this looks like it could go down to the wire. The bottom of this division seems pretty inactive this month and there's not a lot to report here. Divison two is pretty much the same apart from after an impressive performance today Nightloverbe has now moved into contention for promotion. There is little to report on movement today in division three.

Today seems everyone head over to The German Club venues to target Brook trout and Grass carp, sounds like a really hard one to me, but a couple of early starters, Maggie and Klamer Pl have managed to bag a few fish.

Finally, this report is somewhat shorter than normal today, so apologies are made for this, a bout of flu has struck here and bed is calling loudly, this isn't such bad news though, at least it will be pretty much in the final stages by Christmas day. Also there is a problem with the record submission at the moment, in particular the all time species records aren't being recorded. Hopefully this will be recalibrated and the bug corrected tomorrow, there's more important bugs to fight at the moment. Good luck to all who are fishing today, and again, please accepy my apologies for the shortness of this report today.
