Fishing Simulator 2 news..
| 18th Dec 2008 | Trout on vacation |
The world was the trophy anglers oyster yesterday as they were free to roam far and wide in search of brown and rainbow trout, and they did just this, fishing from the Bronte lagoon in Tasmania to the Scottish Avon, some anglers were spotted at La Villaine in France, whereas others went for rural Derbyshire and tried there luck on the River Dove. Early on most anglers fished here there and everywhere, but the more cunning went to DK point, knowing that in the past this venue had produced record breaking brown trout, today though, the venue didn't perform as well as expected. Word soon got around that Trigger was catching plenty of trout and not only that, he was catching big, with rumours abound that he'd broken the brown trout record on the holiday and fishing venue. Other anglers who were fishing there also were able to verify the monster catch of 13 lb 12 oz. This news prompted a lot of anglers to head for the venue and it paid off for them too, in fact Bob Poultney went on to break the short lived record by increasing it by a further 3 oz's.
Meanwhile quietly in the background, other anglers had other plans and were secretly fishing away on King Lake, this was to prove a good decision for Dazza, Shabba, Bertik 007 CZ and Hasanka CZ who all pulled out 14 lb brown trout here. Bertik 007's 14 lb 14 oz brown trout was the biggest fish of the day and beats the current Fishsim 2 brown trout record. It was caught with only a few hours of the match to spare on 3 huge Dendrobaena worm float fished at 8' deep.
Dazza's 14 lb trout helped him to victory yesterday, whilst Bob Poultney took second place to more than compensate for yesterdays glitch. A new name to the news page, Jendyss CZ secured third place. A good turnout of 79 anglers showed up at the weigh in, an excellent show for the time of the year.
The race for the premier league title is looking like it's between Morana CZ and Bob Poultney now with Morana heading the way by a reduced 36 points. Down at the bottom, Juras, Paul Anderson and Alex ru look like they're taking a short cut direct to division 3 after not fishing in any matches this month, whilst the final relegation spot is now occupied by sirfishalot, whilst the 62 points for Clive's 31st position today have helped him jump away slightly from automatic relegation. Bertik 007 CZ is now nearly 100 points clear at the top of division one and looking almost certain for the the title and promotion, whilst Alan looks like he's done enough now for promotion to the top league. Down at the bottom Adriana and Viki are facing an automatic relegation to the bottom division if they don't fish a match before the new year. Tigeress111 and Carpy lead the way in the second division, but this one is going to get very close for the top 4 promotion places. Finally in division three Phoenix Thorn and Lenny Pike look like they've done enough to promote. Due to some anglers from higher divisions not fishing, it looks very likely that more than 4 will promote from this division, the exact number won't be known for sure until the last match of the month.
Today everyone is heading over to Crompton Lodge to target ghost carp and Roach. Although the venue is a bit of an unknown, it's a good guess that the ghost carp are going to be hard to come by. Looking out of the window, there looks to be the bivvy's of Lenny Pike and Lavaboy set up with plumes of steam from the hot coffee rising. Braving the cold night has reaped some rewards, with what looks like a two, maybe even three pound ghostie in Lavaboy's net already. Good luck to all who venture over there today.
You may or may not have noticed that this newsletter has been going for over a week now, and it was getting quite a scroll on the page to get to the bottom, well this has been rectified with a new layout. You can now view all the newsletters by using the << Previous page and Next page >> links below each. All past newsletters will remain available forever. This new layout means that you can leave comments on the bottom of individual daily newsletters instead of them all being together in one block. It's impossible to know if after all this typing and writing it is being read or not, if so please drop a comment below, if only to say hi.
Finally, the records have also changed slightly, for all new submissions, the extra detail that was visible is now hidden, this includes things like water temperature, bait, etc. This has been done to encourage the earlier submission of records without fear of tactics being seen. Also Christmas is now less, ( yes LESS ), than a week away. I thought it would be a good idea to release the Christmas day and Boxing day trophy match details early as most people don't want to be spending xmas fishing and although some consider usage of Fishsim to be grounds for divorce, I doubt a court would see it that way. Any objections, suggestions or comments on this please either post a comment below or email ( fishsim@btinternet.com ), all advice and guidance appreciated.
