Fishing Simulator 2 news..

A cold wintery day saw 58 anglers brave the weather yesterday at Crompton Lodge, but one angler who didn't mind the weather was Lavaboy who headed the pack from the first whistle. Setting up from the off, it wasn't long before a 2 lb 12 oz ghostie was heading into the net. Little did anyone realise at this early stage that this fish would be a realistic contender for the biggest fish of the day. Instead Ziggy arriving just in time for the weigh in that took this honour with a fine 2 lb 13 oz ghost carp. Very few 2 lb + fish were caught, in fact only 9 of the 58 anglers managed this, and all were ghost carp. For the rest it was a bit of a grueller, with fish not feeding in the cold. Plenty caught some good bream, and the odd tench, but roach and ghost carp were in short supply. Lavaboy lured all his ghost carp from peg one on small pieces of hair-rigged volt paste. Ziggy's biggest ghost carp of the day also came from peg one, but this time was lured with tares. Congratulations also go to Tomthetroutmaster in equalling his personal best Trophy Fishsim performance and achieving a top 3 finish.

Todays trophy shifts over to the River Soar at Bonnington where any species will count as it's that cup time again. Only 16 anglers remain in the cup and as you'd expect at this stage there are some very good ties, but the one that really stands out is Morana CZ vs Lenny Pike, a real battle of two of the Trophy Fishsim goliaths. Some early reports have arrived back already from the match and it's looking like it could be a cracker, with two anglers, Shabba and Dazza having netted 5 lb fish already and plenty of others finding 4 lb'ers.

The top two in the premier league remain unchanged with the gap at 36 points, whilst Jerry CZ has now moved upto 3rd place. At the bottom Clive had an impressive overall 12th place and has now pulled out a 39 point gap over sirfishalot in the battle to avoid relegation. Division one remains the same also, with Bertik 007 CZ and Alan clear at the top, whilst Hodgey and Serasan are currently holding the other two promotion places. There are no changes at the top of division two, but it's all still very tight for promotion, at the bottom, downhillbiker CZ is now looking clear favourite for the drop. Phoenix Thorn and Lenny pike are showing the way and pretty much certain of promotion in division 3, whilst Lavaboy's win today has moved him up to 6th place.

Finally, there's not a lot else happened today to comment on. One angler got disqualified for modifying fish stock files, nothing new there however this one didn't quite understand that besides being the displayed checksum, there are others to ! Tis the week before Christmas, and after this, it will be the new year, this is significant for fishsim because it uses a 3 year weather cycle, so the weather on each day in 2009 won't be the same as it was on the same day in 2008. This isn't really as important as it used to be though, as now a lot of fishing occurs in the real month. [ Can't you tell i'm struggling for things to say today ].
